Okay I can excuse if a Pegasus or Unicorn became an alicorn for mistake. But earth pony? Especially the one that well known and have been in the show for a while I don’t think so. The Animator is deliberately trolling us.

Maybe a new census needs to be taken. Have two questions, one for wings and another for magic horns, to replace the single race question. Then they could count everyone who has both.
Or maybe male alicorns have always lived in the clouds, but they’re not royalty, so who cares?
I’m starting to have a rather difficult time believing this is all due to mistakes and not somebody on the animation team deliberately deciding to screw with overattentive watchers.

There could easily be bootleg Alicorn Spells, there’s an idea for a Big Mac Episode.
