Welcome back, fellow dragons, to the Season 9 Retirement Party! This week’s comic is based on Sweet and Smoky, aka: “Garble Spits Mad Fire in More Ways Than One: the Episode”. Looks like that reformation virus Chrysalis is so afraid of has claimed yet another victim! This one makes a lot of sense, too; Garble always struck me as someone who was very insecure about himself, picking on Spike as a way to seem tough when he really isn’t, and it’s cool to see that validated here. I got a lot of comments on the last comic of people dreading the potential reform of recurring villains like Chrysalis, but I love it when friendship prevails in this show and they’re able to help others turn over a new leaf and accept friendship for the better. And the moral is one I’ve sworn by for years, so all in all a good episode.
Feels nice to get one of these done super early for once; working on a shorter comic compared to the last few certainly helps. Let me know if you have any problems reading what’s on the paper; I’ll write it down in the description if it turns out to be a problem.
