My interpretation of the artist:
 
“I hate all these characters so I’m going to make them look as rude and/or insulting to their design as possible.”
 
Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s just my guess.
 
All I can guess about p-21 is it’s some commentary about him being a drug addict with all those glowing needles shoved into him.

Oh the image is just a bit of artist venting. They hate the character or the story or something about it so they draw a little ‘revenge art’ and attract those with similar opinions.
 
As well as those who like the story, thus prompting bot sides to clash in an argument that basically solves nothing when a general ‘agree to disagree’ peace treaty would work so much better.

I’ve read the story over a dozen times.  
It’s the picture itself I question.
 
I personally liked the story and consider Blackjack to be my second favorite character.  
Second only to Nick Valentine, of course.

Ya, after chapter 60 the fic turns to a bit of a shite.  
I always like to compare Project Horizons to the Saints Row game series (Yes, after I realized how much in common had SR4 with PH after Chapter 60). It’s almost unrecognizably diffrent to it’s first few chapters.
 
But on the defence of PH, that’s kinda bound to happen after 4 years of writting one story that author has already lost interest in continueing.

That does seem to be confusing, I guess… Unless you go by the idea that humans are internally psychopaths by default and all writers are human (except for the bot that wrote that chapter of Harry Potter and the Portrait of What Looked Like a Large Pile of Ash) and we write what we know…

I liked the characters, I can say that. Heck, the setting is really well-build and everything. But honestly, I wouldn’t call this a “Fallout” fic, not after chapter 60. It was almost a parody of it, not matter how seriousness or rape scenes were inserted on it.

Since I am reading Pink Eyes, I would put it on the “classic part”, being attached to the games and the original fic. What makes that fic good is that its separated to the other fics, except with very few exceptions here and there. While I am enjoying the fic, the characterization of Puppy is confusing, like, the story tries to force you to know that Puppy is just an innocent, oblivious filly, but suddenly, she is capable of murdering?

With all it’s overblown crazyness, at least PH tried to be “original” and have characters deeper than a puddle of water.

After playing FO2, FO3, NV and a bit of FO1, I can now understand why fans mostly decided stop reading it until ch27 or 60.
 
It was so far unrelated to Fallout, only the most basic elements of it existed. Fallout its about grasping the horrors of a post-nuclear wasteland and try survive it. The first FOE fic nailed it well, getting closer to the games, but with PH, it went crazy by inserting ridiculous grimdark settings taken from WH40K, anime-like fights, elements from Metal Gear Revengeance and Cthulhu Mythos.
 
Also, this is mostly a personal opinion but I didnt like when Somber insterted OCs and portrayed them as the main cause of the whole FOE universe. Specially Goldenblood and Amadi.

This image feels… Kind of pathetic.  
Sort of like when kids in school fight over something and they just try their best to be as petty and hateful as possible.  
Meh the art is good but the message is petulant and childish.

Never read Project Horizons, so I don’t have any opinion about it. But I do appreciate the effort the artists put into this picture. They could’ve just ed a 500 word rant about how much the story sucks, but instead decided to draw a well-drawn parody artwork.

hmm. I read both and more, Played the actual fallout games, and seen so much fan art that in my opinion I really don’t care which is good or which is bad. we all have our own taste and some of us like “Long” stories but really are they not the same thing? just two mary sues just saving the wastelands? I just think BJ’s way of saving it is the more “How the fuck did we get to this?” I never seen a FOE were the Main character is a villain or a Character who kills for motives of there own reason’s.
