I heard it was because Legend of Chima was cheaper to produce. But cartoons network does seem to think they are to each other. I heard Powerpuff girls has terrible ratings but thr toys sell so they keep it in production
Thundercats got it so bad that we later found out that the toys actually did sell well but they killed it off because they felt the Legend of Chima toys would sell better.

True. Let’s hope they inspire others to make their own shows or at least write their own ideas. And let’s hope that G5 progresses MLP, even if it’s not as popular, as long as it’s good and has a story and characters people like, the fan base won’t die out.
You can add Steven Universe to this, it was announced that “Steven Universe Future” will be a miniseries like final season with an epilogue feel. It’s possibly going to air in December and end somewhere in 2020. Sooooo
