The whole point of a background event is to be a background event. They didn’t tweet when they referenced Bioshock and The Big Lebowski. It’s like an Easter Egg in games: developers don’t go tweeting about them.
Now, if it was audio commentary track, or “The Making Of”, then it’s fine to say it.
The only relationship that was not thrown in our face out of nowhere, has been developed every episode until this ep where they will finally get married after years dating.
