Yeah, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie was conceived to be the series finale to close out the show with three seasons of over 60 episodes. But it wasn’t. And Nickelodeon begin to make season four that possibly picked up right where the movie left off and then made new seasons and new episodes and two sequels and future sequel/spin-offs of the first movie.

Like claiming that Bart and Lisa grew up with “Little Einstein” (something that existed a long time after the show even started) or giving a different origin for things (such as how Homer and Marge met… multiple times).
