Honestly, I didn’t see any virtue-signaling, or politics, or any of that, and as stated the characters’ relationships are left ambiguous enough for fans to consider them however they want. This was obviously done please both the ’shippers, and non-’shippers alike.

you don’t know anything about Hasbro or them. They don’t what you think, they didn’t want to do that as they said in the scripts, they had to change it. So far objectively speaking, they the friendship between the characters you only have so much negativity for your hatred and complaint towards people you don’t trust. Angel Bunny was just making fun of his owner and you don’t even listening. You are a jerk. This is the reason why Hasbro and Andrea Libman are fed up with fans bothering them about those ships so they don’t listen to them. Hasbro leaks the changes. When did Josh & such say it was canon, & such ‘cause I haven’t seen proof of that. All I’ve seen people say was it was up to the viewers/fans to decide for themselves about the implied ’shippings in the finale.
Andrea has less say so over the show then Big Jim frankly.

That is not an argument. Director is not related to story or what is canon. Not to even mention he himself said its just his opinion. His opinion is also that LyraBon is platonic so its worthless. So far objectively speaking, Discoshy is CANON and 100% confirmed, thanks to Angel Bunny confirming it, Hasbro leaks placing it as canon in the scrips, and Gameloft games also seeing as canon. Meanwhile keep posting some barely related opinion while Josh Haber, Andrea Libman said its canon and IDW is going to explore their wedding.

I’ll accept that it’s heavily implied, but I don’t have to think it makes sense. AJ and Dash’s relationship was largely based around competition, which is fine for a platonic friendship, but I feel like it’d make a mess out of any possible romance between the two.

To be honest the counterargument to that is that it’s also canon that Applejack is “maternal” and her aspiration in life is to carry on the farm to her foals.
Make of that what you will. Of course, it wouldn’t be nearly the first time that the show canon contradicts itself in ridiculous ways, so I’m not saying that those things disprove appledash being canon. Just food for thought.

And that’s what happened in the example I mentioned. Fans were furious it was Matt & Sora instead of Tai & Sora at the end of Digimon season 2. So this is nothing new with shipping and shippers. People have been reacting like this for decades on the Internet.
