Twilight’s first act as Queen of Equestria is to send the Mane 6 to explore mysterious-and potentially dangerous-areas of Equestria. When Applejack, Zecora, Rockhoof, and Tempest travel to Zecora’s home country, they meet a zebra named Marini-and learn exciting, surprising information about Zecora, the magical ponieskelpies and abada, and the not-so-magical zebras who live there!

Yeah, I heard that. Hopefully they’ll perhaps get a digital release via Comicsology. I know Marvel and DC are both going digital for the time being.
I’ll make a note here (and the other covers) that Diamond Comic Distributors just announced that due to the COVID-19 situation they will postpone shipping any comics with planned released after April 1 indefinitely, which will include MLP Issues #89 onward.

Well; Zecora would be an Alchemist, Tempest should serve as a Cleric, Applejack may make a great Druid, and Rockhoof? He definitely got the looks and skills of a Barbarian.
This is gonna be the premiere for Season 10? If these comic writers’ reputations weren’t on the line with the brony fandom in the past, they sure are gonna be with these comics!

I think we may be reading too much into this synopsis. Going with show proper, “Equestria” is clearly not the whole planet, with definitely Yakyakistan and the Dragon Lands falling outside the proper bounds. That still means at the fringes of the country there are dangerous spots, likely bordering their more dangerous neighbors. The synopsis above could mean that the area in Equestria bordering zebra country is considered dangerous because of the unknown factor of what zebras do and behave.

And moreso, its implied that S10 takes place a very short time after the coronation (like, maybe at most a year).
And that’s what I think most would want at least from the comics. The world remains familiar and we all still wanted world-building at that point.
I would love that if the vector of S10 is towards the more inter-species communal gathers that S9E26 had at the end of the day. Maybe this reachout to the zebras is the type of diplomacy towards that…
(And that hopefully means an issue with more kirin…

Capper, Songbrid and Tempest had larger roles. And Tempest more than any other character from the movie. Again, I can’t blame them because Tempest is awesome.

The writers from IDW have a surprising knowledge of secondary canon. I won’t expect him, but I won’t be surprised if he does appear either
