While not into Sparity, I disagree that she “treats him badly.” She was ready to physically fight teenage dragons whom threatened him, dont forget. She was sweet to him in “Secret to my Excess,” and many other episodes.
Any ship is better than Sparity. They openly showed that Rarity does not treat Spike well. Disliking that ship made me not care for what the best ship is, but this one, this looks like it.

Also, since parallel universes are cannon to the MLP universe, so any ship could be valid.
