Yeah, I actually partly agree with this. Starlight and Spike is a stupid ship, Spike only has eyes for Rarity. Even then neither Rarity or Spike wouldn’t actually want to be in a relationship with Spike due to Spike being more the age of the Crusaders, meaning Spike is probably under-aged and thus it would be illegal for them to date him. Basically by shipping Starlight with Spike you are calling her a p*deophile. Same with Rarity and other ships. Sweetie Belle and Spike is an alright ship, that makes alot of sense, as long as it’s purley innocent “strong friendship”, hugging and pecks on the cheek for example and no “adult” stuff.
