I know. I just like to think of weird joke theories. Like how I like to think Timon is secretly a carnivore hiding his dark secret from Pumbaa, or else Pumbaa will disown his friend. Yeah it’s a ridiculous and unnecessary theory, but I find it hilarious and over the top.
 
Sadly people actually do criticize a movie for being unrealistic, not understanding suspension of disbelief. I used to think Pokemon was badly written because 10 years olds are allowed to travel the world without an adult, because that doesn’t happen in real life. Oh I feel so embarrassed for actually thinking that was a genius critique.

Don’t think too deeply. Both franchises make statements and notices the penetrate the fourth wall and have parallels to different events, people, places, and things with no clear natural reason for them to be there. Most of the audience would know what the stuff tastes like.
