I mean, is not like the DeviantArt points are really useful. You can buy the CORE, which is the in the site, and buy some things in the web, but nothing else. You cannot go to a store and try to buy food, drinks, utensils, or anything. Do you think the artists can live only with oxygen and sun rays? Is pretty selfish think that they shoud accept dA Points only because you have some. Money in PayPal is better, especially for those who are completely independient artists and doesn’t have of their family anymore. Let’s the art in Internet can be more a real job than only a hobby like in the first years of DeviantArt. Evolution, I guess. People shouldn’t stuck in the idea you can’t get money in Internet.
@d1ckbitch
As someone who uses DA, I found the points system as a means to have used the money without having to give my credit card info to the artist directly and use DA as the middle man for my own personal safety at the time; at least when I first started really using DA and wanting commissions.
@Woodcut
That’s was I meant, DA points doesn’t seems very useful for real life needs, but they are bought with real money, so why not giving the real money directly to the artist
Paypal has problems too, but at least it’s more or less real money
In any case, you’re supposed to buy DA points with real money, so why not cutting the middleman (and also sending the artist some actually useful money, as bad as paypal is too)
And how is that’s bad? What’s the point of your post?
No one said that’s bad - as you see, OP didn’t said that’s bad.
I guess that the point of this post is note that no one uses DA points anymore. Also, I’d like if OP could provide the useful source, which can ensure that this is true.
As someone who uses DA points and has gotten a lot of good art from people, I’m not upset if they want to switch to paypal. They need money and that’s the best way. Can we really blame them.
Whoa! I was not expecting that.
Perhaps, we should not use PayPal.

Paypal regularly bullies NSFW artists (and even some regular small businesses, see https://web.archive.org/web/20190227223945/https://minifree.org/paypal/ for example ), by freezing their funds in the platform for months at a time and de facto putting their economy in jeopardy, asking for paperwork, and sometimes even taking their money, as it seems
There’s at least one reason to think that “DA Points” are bad.
OP has a point, because OP does.

I either am missing something or I find this whole “DA Points” idea to be extremely awful…
Also, OP did nothing wrong, isn’t it?
