Well, we don’t know if G5 was set in the same continuity as G4! We can’t have both G4 and G5 set in the same continuity! That’s so crazy. G5 was a reboot! A different incarnation/continuity with a new incarnation of Equestria! And we haven’t see any characters died in the G4 franchise. But we only see King Sombra, the Storm King, a load of Storm Creatures, the Giant Timberwolf King, Arimaspi, the Mean Six, Nightmare Moon, Daybreaker, Midnight Sparkle, the Plunderseeds, the Windigos, the Tantabus, the carnivorous plants seen in Friendship Games, King Orion, Sergio the Dragon, and the Tree of Harmony al died in the G4 franchise.

Actually, since it takes place a couple centuries after G4 that means MOST of the characters have died, with exceptions for a few characters.
And lucky for me, my most favorite character is one of them!
They already said it was in a distant future in equestria, and yes, those are the mane 6 figures, you can also see a poster with the cm of rainbow and on with celestia’s above the bed
