Birb pones have the best fluff. It’s very soft so it’s aerodynamic in flight, but very thick to keep them warm at high flight speeds and altitudes :D

They all have chest floof, but fluffing them out to attract mates is almost exclusively a female thing though. It’s why pegasus stallions are attracted to human women with big breasts, and why human men are a perfect mate for pegasus mares :D

I think it’d be mostly a practical unisex Pegasus (and by extension Alicorn) thing, since they’d benefit from extra fluff while flying.
^ Also makes them softer, something I agree should be a default Pegasus thing: other pony races, especially the Earths who’re stiff+very strong, love to get close with a Pegasus cuz they’re so soft :D
