The movie definitely isn’t for everyone and if it’s not your cup fo tea, that’s fine. Personally, it’s one of my all-time favorite movies.

About Rarity, I think she was just kidding… or maybe she was being serious.
Besides, it would be out of character for Rarity to kill the pony she’s in love with, even if that pony didn’t do a good job at drawing her (according to her standards).

Honestly, I still have no interest in that film to this day. So you are not alone with that.
Also, another thing: even if it makes sense for Rarity to be ticked off at a badly made drawing of her, I don’t think she would be the type of pony to wish to murder the artist who made that drawing of her. That is probably the least accurate aspect of this comic.
