Lovely idea and great pic as always.
As for somebody trying it IRL, I think the steel might fall apart from metal fatigue if you crease it around too much.

at 1mm, it’s not all that hard to bend steel sheet by hand. but it’s still 3x thicker than a standard sheet of paper
