nice to hear the about ing from discord. that’s my bad lol. i thought discord’s compression was lossless but it obviously reduced the resolution. but i agree no quality was lost
@mulbmerl
Yes, taking a glance at my s Derpi does reduce the filesizes for PNGs by about 10%. But image resolution stays the same, so since PNGs use lossless compression there’s no quality loss there.
Tho afaik I don’t think Discord compresses images that much, it just removes the unimportant metadata and blocks you from ing beyond the filesize limit.
yeah, i also learned the hard way not to use discord for anything more than a personal scrap book since media sent through it is always compressed to hell
but actually derpi seems like a good enough thing to the source files from if i need an archive to exchange files across the internet? someone please tell me i’m an idiot if i’m missing obvious compression that they put on it…
i mean it does always say that it optimizes it for filesize (maybe that’s for the thumbnail + small version before you click the image?)
@ARandomByStander
i’m really not sure why! i would’ve swore i kept the original size throughout the whole editing process. i originally ed it to discord, and then reed the attachment to it here after losing the original png.
Derpi probably uses something like optipng
That’s…scary when I think of all the comms I received through discord messages. I have nitro, but the artists don’t.

Edited because: god i am so tired right now
