Well the issue is Starlight Glimmer wasn’t supposed to exist.
After the third movie Sunset Shimmer was supposed to return to Equestria and become Twilight’s student.
That’s also why when Twilight gets her own school Sunset shimmer who can see other people’s emotions would become the student counselor and eventual principle.
