Well, that’s just meanspirited. Ayoub’s work isn’t inherently a lesser form of art because it isn’t as detailed, consistent, or even accurate as the likes of Price, Fleecs, or Mebberson.
I draw because it’s fun, not because I’m good at it, and I can confidently say most artists feel the same.
That doesn’t excuse a comic company getting an artist who can’t keep to industry standard. IDW has a number of other experienced artists they could’ve used, or use this artist on a one-shot trial run, not draw for a whole series.
If a doctor ruins a patient’s life trying to perform surgery, that “it’s difficult” isn’t a valid excuse for a hospital, especially letting them continue to operate on people when there’s other surgeons available. I know it’s art, but I’m illustrating the concept.
@Chopsticks
Any art school will tell you not to spend too much time on one drawing; this is especially the case in comics both because of the dozens of times you’d have to draw the same things and the speed in which comics are read. I can attest to how daunting of a task it is to draw just eight pages in five weeks. We can’t all be Andy Price.

But why not get anyone else for the Classics Reimagined series?
Correct, which is exactly what I said.
