That review takes a lot of things waaaaaaaaaay too seriously at some points I had to skip because of certain subjectiveness, like character designs (I have to it that I’m not a big fan of them either, but things like the characters designs tends to fall more into the “opinions pool” We have found people that like those designs unironically and well,I think we should at least respect that, imo)
However,it doesn’t change the fact that the movie actually had plotholes, pacing and characterization issues, not to mention the mistake to use the high school setting (though the latter can be argued).
So in certain ways, the movie did fail to deliver, for the most part anyway. However, not everything was pandemoniumsly bad.But the real questions are:
Should we care? Of course we do,just look what happened ever since this got announced.
But the majority of the fandom is split in two sides.
There are people who is giving too much importance to this movie, some people say is the worst thing ever ignoring the few good points and some others say is the best 10/10 ignoring the flaws.
There has to be more a middle ground point.I’m not saying it doesn’t exist, but they are clearly the minority.
Do Hasbro cares? In a way, yes, they were the ones who asked the staff to do “something” with the concept of EqG after all but is obvious that they don’t pay attention except product placement or when there’s something potentially offensive or “too complicated for the kids to get”
Are the kids caring? of course kids are more flexible with these things and usually they don’t really complicate themselves, but one should never underestimate on how detailist kids can really be.And their imput will be shown in the sales of the dolls, whose numbers I’m afraid will be “tainted” by the brony community. And that’s a problem, because it would create blurry information how many of the target demographic actually like this idea.
Did the show staff really cared? I would say yes, they did. Some aspects were much better than what I thought it would be but man, they blew it with, not only with the story, but with the characters, especially with the movie original ones.
Twilight did show a some development here, but it can’t be for the rest of her “new” friends since they were sort of back to square one.
Sometimes,I’m torn between believing they genuinely did what they could or they didn’t really try enough.
I mean, yeah working on a magical setting with pony characters for two years and then they had to work this movie with humans and a high school,I would have thought they would find this…at least refreshing? right?
I was not,in any way, expecting a masterpiece, but gee,not something very average either and for a movie,we already have the show for those kind of episodes.
Of course it’s going to fail, EQG is a train wreck waiting to happen and Hasbro is going to suffer for their poor decision in forcing this to be produced.

You’re right. I should have explained why the movie did ‘fail’ through my eyes.

This review is the exact why this movie did indeed ‘failed’.
I think Mr. Shittwat’s definition of “Fail” may be either quite vast or extremely flexible.
It made quite a bit of money, and there are a lot of bronies who said they enjoyed it.
So, no, I don’t think you can say that it failed by any means.
Bah. Visceral reaction, I meant.
I hear that! I had a pretty strong visceral to Bratz, and I still do. One of my friends called them “prosti-tots”.
HA HA WOW. Really? The No True Scotsman fallacy? REALLY?
I don’t think the movie is guaranteed to suck, but I’d rather if bomb so the staff can focus on the main show, which we already know is good.
Even the Barbie’s “My Scene” (the first ones) were sort of ok,even had catchy music Link.
But Bratz always had something it rubbed me wrong way.
@Background Pony
Ugh,don’t remind me…
*Looks up Struts ponies because of forgetfulness and lack of judgement*
Pffff! Oh, yeah! Those are horrible, but still not a major toy line, right?
…RIGHT?
Have you ever seen the Struts ponies?
I’ve always seen Bratz as “My first street hooker” dolls.
But we’re not allowed to have differing opinions on this website.
i love this pic
You mistyped “Endless”
Bratz is basically the reason terrorists hate America.
I give you that. But well,Monster High characters have to look like that because…well they are monsters.
Bratz, though…shit, now those things piss me off greatly.
