I’ve been slightly spoiled by Final Fantasy’s SNES battle presentation, but having the characters on the left side of the screen makes me think they’ve been ambushed by the Parasprites (which is actually a possibility, but not what I think the artist was going for).
Also, mildly disappointed to read that the project was cancelled, but, as this was the first I’d seen of it, not too broke up.

Fighting is Magic was pulled because it copied the design of the characters directly from the show, this game clearly does not.
The only real issue is the names.
You know how some people say they’ve come up with an original idea, and then it turns out it’s not as original as they thought?
Well, Blue Dragon did the whole front row back row thing before this game was even thought of.
See? Not as bad as a C&D but it’s just as similar to it. Not having faith in fangames being finished makes the eventual cancellation via by disinterest, force, etc. more palatable.

And about the story, apparently it’s mostly an adaptation of the pilot episodes, so the only major villain is NMM.

Why exactly this game won’t et a c&D ? Because it’s almost unknown ? (and looks actually quite nice)
