I just realized that, despite Lily doing her best to make sure he watches his game uninterrupted, he still takes particular interest in her. Is this peak relationship?
Well, he did bite her in the rear before when she first presented by accident. I think that’s when she realized Spike had a thing for her plot extended up in the air.

Maybe the only reason they had them in the first place was because people were pestering them about not having many outwardly gay characters in their series and they want to focus on the stories they have planned.

there’s one ‘implied lesbian’ comic. but no, no gay characters. only canonically gay characters have mysteriously vanished after their wedding.

Let the artist draw what they want. There’s nothing wrong with them being creative in their own story. You shouldn’t impose your own wants and desires onto this just because the way the artist is structuring their comic feels “wrong” to you. If you don’t enjoy it there are plenty of comics and fanart pieces that you can go.
for as much as I love these comics… can anyone explain the lack of any gay characters? It seems to me that even lyra and bonbon, who are officially married in cannon, have been rewritten and changed. Something smells wrong here, and if anyone has any links to something as simple as adorkable twilight comic where lyra and bonbon say they love each other, I’d like to see it.
Straights in the comic seem to be open about their interest, often to funny results, but there is zero hints that the officially gay characters are even interested in each other.
When you think about it, she doesn’t need to bend over in order to pick this stuff up.
The fact that she does anyway signals that she naturally likes to give her dragon lover a show.
You can’t make someone gay and comics don’t have to be to be good
Does the comic need gay characters, or do you just want gay characters?
