I’m the one who put those words in her mouth (that’s my script and my lettering) so I believe I may be able to answer your question. A ‘tosser’ is an old UK insult for someone who is a ‘wanker’. From the era that Princess Luna is so colourfully recreating, it implies they are someone who spends all their time enjoying autoeroticism, but more correctly I believe they are someone who is as useful in any given task as someone who spends the entire time having a ‘cheeky wank’ instead of getting the job done. ‘Rank’ usually just means ‘unpleasant’, but in this case I think she means to call him ‘disgusting’. I don’t think she’s saying that because she finds him disgusting, but more in that the “rank of things that are tossers”, Starswirl The Bearded was the most rank of tossers.
2LDR: She didn’t really enjoy his company, and found working with him to be tedious and unpleasant. Not because of any tossing, per sé, but more because … well … have you SEEN Starswirl The Bearded as he was in ye Olde Tymes?
