All they learned was that any attempt at originality is doomed to fail. The reason G5 failed is because it wasn’t FiM. So now, they plan to reboot FiM. In the form of Camp Cutie Mark.
G5 was good to me, worth continuing to me, and quite frankly I don’t think you understand what “objectively” means. But none of this matters. Your soul is closed and the deeds are done. What you receive next will be the nadir. I hope you enjoy reaping what you sow.
G4 is not coming back. It was a product of the 2010s zeitgeist. The world has changed. Faust’s original team of excellent creatives has scattered almost entirely to the wind. Goldner is dead and Cocks wants Hasbro to become a video game company, and couldn’t give two shits about media. He’s the reason everything post-movie was garbage: he didn’t believe in it like Goldner did, and pulled all the funding. Netflix funded this entire generation, which was quite frankly generous.
It’s not happening again. Cherish what you had, because not even this bar of quality will be met again. It’s going even lower next gen. Mark my words.

Why are any of us pretending that G5 was good or worth continuing?
I get you want new pony content but both Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark were objectively poorly written, and they were animated noticeably worse than Friendship is Magic.
I’m genuinely tired of seeing the term “G4 purists” like they don’t have a VERY good reason to exist to begin with. G5 needed to fail, and I couldn’t be more happy that it did, because now there’s at least a chance something of actual quality rises from it’s ashes.
And I get that there are people who genuinely love G5, and I feel for them, but even they can’t deny that something with G4’s quality would be a remarkable breath of fresh air.

It would take a lot of outcry from the fandom for Hasbro to even consider that though. And with how few of us G5 fans there are, it would definitely be hard to have our voices heard. (Especially with how many G4 fans actively celebrate the downfall of G5 and shit on everyone who loves G5) The huge brony fandom of the FIM days just doesn’t seem to care about how badly Hasbro treated G5
