She could live the life in the safety of her vault, where she will never find excitement, fulfillment, or true happiness…or go out into the wasteland, risking life and limb daily.
Neither is really a good option, really, and while it wouldn’t make for a good story, she would have a better life if she had somewhere in between, and had some shot at happiness but not constantly fighting every day of her life.

By opposite attractions and desires;
The struggle of the instinct that enjoys,
And the more noble instinct that aspires.
Maybe because of false advertising lawsuits. Imagine a happy mare on the ad, then getting the most soul-crushed unicorn ever.
