@Background Pony #6B23
But why? The entire idea is just a bunch of ponies knowingly and deliberately causing an extended period of intense stress and genuine fear for both the physical and mental health and safety of literally the entire town and everypony she ever knew there, all for the sake of “teaching her a lesson” about why she… should consider other ponies feelings? Feelings they only ever really tried to talk to her about once, for not even two minutes—and even then, never actually communicated?
I just don’t think “she’ll genuinely hate this—let’s do it!” is a great way to teach a lesson about considering other ponies feelings… especially when at no point in the entire episode was anywhere near sufficient explanation or argument ever given to her.
Simply put: Rainbow’s pranks were done—as literally stated in the show—to be “funny”. At least… to her, they were. She wasn’t considering anypony else’s point of view, sure.
But fact is, Pinkie’s idea wasn’t even meant to be funny—as stated—and it certainly wasn’t ever meant to be a “prank”—it was supposed to be a lesson.
And a lesson meant to be taught by genuinely upsetting someone, not as a prank, and by genuinely convincing them they poisoned all their friends.
That isn’t a “lesson”. That’s just revenge. And revenge taken in the form of “genuinely convincing someone that they accidentally poisoned everyone they knew”.

But I loved that episode, no, really! That episode has got to be my favorite episode of the entire series, or at least my favorite episode from season 6.
