This comment thread is such a relic, due to the fact that only, like, 6 people from Croydon 12 years ago could’ve possibly known what the joke actually was. There’s one person linking “real” dubstep, but it’s stuff from years ago when the Londoners were squarely in the dungeon sound era. Labels Tempa, Chestplates, Uprise Audio and Osiris Music. People wanted that era to end very badly because it was very, very boring when played live for an hour or two. The choice was between robots fucking or 6 minute cave ambience.
Techno and dubstep are awesome if done right, but if done badly you can wind of with sounds ranging from robots fucking to flying cars crashing into eachother
@Flurshy
Er…you’ve got it backwards. I’m a huge aficionado of all types of electronic music. Have been for years. House, Trance, DNB, Gabba, Happy Hardcore, Psy, Garage, Hardstyle, Ethno-Tech, Jungle, etc.
I’m just don’t really know a lot about dubstep/brostep. I wasn’t assuming it was dubstep because I liked it, but because I thought all that emphasis on bass and the “KICK SNARE KICK SNARE” beat made it dubstep.
@GargantuanBass
I think the problem here is assuming it’s dubstep because you like it.
The world of electronic music is incredibly large. In fact, I classify music genres based upon how they’re made – instrumental/traditional with instruments, or electronic.
Don’t stick to just dubstep. Try electro, house, trance, hardstyle, hardcore! So many genres. So much music.
@GargantuanBass
It’ electro house mixed with d’n’b and added wooble on midtones. A lot of people call it brostep.
Sorry for my english but it’s not my native language.
It’s all good, bro.
Ah, okay. I was going on what it looked like. Hope I didn’t offend you.
