It’s simple enough but also a pain in the ass sometimes, especially with tweaking gradients. Gradients done in Animate don’t translate properly into Illustrator, no clue why, but it’s the main reason for why you haven’t seen much of Rarity or Celestia.

On the surface that sounds “easy” but it’s probably pretty tedious. In case nobody’s said it yet, I think it’s awesome you’re doing this and your hard work is super appreciated :D
But basically the playdate digital apps (except power ponies, the movie, and the story creator) have .swf files with animations taken directly from the show. Much like with the official flash games, I use a flash exporter to export frames as .svgs (or export them as .flas, open them in Animate, and then export them as .svgs), tweak them in Illustrator so they convert properly (gradients can be really fickle for some reason), and then share them here!
