Love this drawing so much. I’m so glad to see G5 featured. It needs all the love it can get after all the hell and gaslighting it, its creators, and its fans have been put through.
Sunny and her friends are such lovable ponies who only ever wanted to just make us happy. They deserve to carry MLP and finish their story.
One of the reasons why I like G5 (at least A New Generation and Make your Mark) is that it went back to the idea of having good friendships. Friendship is Magic was a TV show about friendship, but in the later seasons the writers focused less on teaching friendship and more about rewarding bad behaviour and make people tolerate that bad behaviour.
Both A New Generation and Make your Mark went back to the roots of Friendship is Magic, roots that the original show should have never abandoned. It’s one of the reasons why I kept watching Make your Mark.
While I (of course) still love G4, I really do have to agree. I kinda felt like there were a weird amount of episodes justifying abusive behavior for some reason? Also the whole treating friendship as a religion that you have to go prosleytize for thing was kinda weird too. But In the end the morals weren’t why I loved the show, it was the characters.
And G5 has some truly wonderful pones, too! I kinda like what I’ve seen but I havent seen the whole thing since I watch with my cousin and he doesnt like it, and while he’s willing to watch it I just feel uncomfortable watching something with somepony who obviously isn’t enjoying it…
I like Zipp and Pipp so much more than I would have thought if you just described their characters to me they’re so precious.
