I have a feeling that when Luna was locked on the moon that her powers were stripped away and she was reduced to her smaller form. Her power hidden in each star that aided in her escape, if she had all her power, she would have been able to escape the moon by herself. So the stars were her cage and only salvation. They must have been some complex locks to break. I think that her cage was more or less designed to hold her for a more undertermined amount of time rather than a thousand years-more like I guess forever? But it only took luna a thousand years to unlock the stars to escape. That’s enough rambling for today I think lol
