Heartfelt Nourish was in the middle of a dead forest, the howling of the wind and the heavy snowfall the only thing that accompanied her. Just an hour ago, she had been at the Whinnypeg General Hospital working the night shift, doing what she does best. She wasn’t an experienced pony by all means, just a simple nurse doing her simple best.
That night, she was staying close to a rather sick filly, trying to keep her at peace since the poor foal had nightmares of ponies disappearing without a trace. She mentioned of portals swallowing them up, sending them to a world of horror and death. It was downright scary to hear that, Heartfelt had to it, but foals often had strange dreams regardless.
However, before she was able to reassure her that, “No, those things don’t happen,” she blanked out and now found herself in the middle of nowhere, freezing her flank off. She was thankful that she at least had her medical gloves and her saddlebag with her. It brought a sense of comfort, as strange as it sounded.
“Stupid snow…” she whispered.
She stumbled through the winter wasteland, no sign of civilization so far. The trees around her were as dead as a doorknob, snow piling meters above her own height. The cold wind bit at her face and she almost wanted to give up before she heard something… rumble.
She paused, her eyes darting towards the noise, scanning the surroundings as best she could.
And there it was, a light growing brighter with each ing second. It was hard to see what it was with the heavy snowfall, but she was desperate.
“Hey!” she began waving her hooves frantically, hoping to gain the attention of the mysterious light. “O-Over here! Please, I-I’m here!”
The light kept getting closer, the rumbling even louder. It almost appeared like it was going to her before… before it came to a stop, a screeching stop.
That didn’t sound like anything made by a pony.
Looking closer, Heartfelt realized that it wasn’t anything she had ever seen in her life, or at least in her own town. It was large, seemingly made of metal yet had wheels on the bottom. Its lights were at the front, illuminating ground ahead. She recognized it was a machine, but what sort? She didn’t have an answer.
Without warning, something opened on its side and out came a creature, a strange biped. She backpedaled a few steps away, eyes wide as she stared at it and it stared right back at her. It stood on its two legs, wore clothing fit for the environment, yet it also wore strange looking attire. It held something in its hooves? Odd, but it was coming towards her.
“I’ll be damned.” it… no, he spoke, “another pony.”
Another pony? Were there others like her here? She couldn’t the creature being on any one of her ’Guide to Species: Identify ‘Em!’ hoof guide that the hospital gave out. Crud, she was too cold to be curious.
“C-Can you help me?” she stammered out.
A second ed before the biped gave a nod, gesturing towards the machine.
“Get in, it’ll be warmer in thei-”
RAAAAGGHH!
His eyes snapped to the right, so did hers. “Agh, shit…”
Right in front of them were creatures similar to the biped, yet they were… different. They were disfigured, monsters she seemed to come up with. Their skin appeared rotten with a terrible growth latching onto their clothes and bodies.
She had a feeling they weren’t friends.
Heartfelt Nourish cursed her luck a fifth time; just why her? First, she had been dumped into this cold place and now this? It was like the universe was against the mare’s own existence.
Before she could let out a whine, she glanced over at the biped she was with. She could see him raise his metal staff and boom, thunder came.

Alright, and this is my final thing I’m posting since it’s the most recent one. Well, technically it isn’t, but the most recent one was posted by another here just days ago. Anywho, anything coming out from me will be new! Awesome… I think.
