That explains so much. I’ve lived here for years and never made the connection. Also explains why they have such a wide range of properties under one brand. They’re teaching people how to run everything from a motel to a high-end resort.
They’re tied to the University of Central Florida’s Rosen School of Hospitality and Hotel Management in Orlando. It’s the largest hospitality and tourism school in the world. The hotels and restaurants are largely staffed by students learning the trade before graduating and getting jobs in the industry all over the world.
I assume he’s at Rosen Centre, the actual site of the event, but it feels like they own half the hotels on I-Drive. Which is odd because they’re a strictly local chain. They have seven hotels in the Orlando area and zero hotels anywhere else.
(But between Disney, Universal, and grown men lusting after cartoon horses, they’re probably doing alright for themselves.)
