Options for furniture for most folks are Ikea, flat pack stuff from China, spending a bundle, or getting lucky and finding quality used pieces for reasonable prices.

Yeah, the real problem with Ikea stuff is that it’s polished garbage, often literally made from reinforced cardboard. Cabinets you can’t sit on or dinner tables you can’t climb on without breaking. I’m astonished anyone seriously calls that flismy crap “furniture”, but I guess it just shows how far the living standards dropped in the last 30 years or so.

Their instructions are simple and clear it baffles me how ppl think theyre so hard to understand!
Ikea products aren’t hard to build if and only if you follow the instructions exactly.
