If this is a statuette I love it. If it is a tabletop gaming mini it is, as you said, overcomplicated… Or rather overly specific to the character’s environment and even their specific location within that environment.
It now occurs to me that how detailed and/or ornate to make the base of a gaming mini might be a debated or, at least, trickier subject that would ever occur even to most players… In I have made a few of my own minis out of polymer clay (FIMO) for my own games, both to save money and because it was easier than finding skunks in the two correct sizes (for normal and dire).
