To avoid taking off-topic discussion, the blame lies with Hasbro for not letting the characters age, but if they could, they would, since Nova Starscout’s look is consistent with Twilight’s 2.0 look and other alicorns was like, for example.

If the former, then why did they not want to see them if not the reasons I described?
If the latter:
They turned G5 from a reboot into a sequel because of fan backlash to the leaks showed they did cared, even if only they thought it would make more money. Mistakes in execution are not the same as not caring.
Some of them did care and tried to make it work, others didn’t and hampered those efforts, hence the unevenness of the attempts to appeal. “They” is an invalid generalization as care varies between the many persons on the project.

If this was after Pinkie had a family, why does she have her before that point design? The G5 revival project changed that because the leaks did not explain this despite how critical such would be, suggesting they never cared enough to factor that in. Maybe that’s why they canceled, they realized what fans wanted from this was too different than what they were willing to provide and cut losses?

I think other Mane Six would probably be an explanation, like the Pillars of Harmony going to the future, but they’d probably come back to the past afterward since Pinkie has a family there.
The leakers/G5 revival changed it to her S9 finale from to fix the continuity error, meaning there was no in-work explanation for the apparent de-aging, at least by the time of cancelation.

If because it would irrefutably confirm G5 as the same universe as G4, rather than retcon in an AU like TYT seemed, I get that, but that would leave so many holes in the worldbuilding it would seem too late to fix.
In fairness Discord merely did not or misunderstood Twilight’s intentions for sealing away magic.

If they were fine with the characters aging for the FIM finale, why not for G5?
If they don’t like G5, why do they still care what it does/doesn’t do if they don’t care to follow it either way
