Honestly, ing VTubing is like ing a cult. You have to erase everything about your past self in order to become one.
No, not necessarily. There’s plenty of VTubers, even ones in professional agencies, that choose to have their older content available. The fan community even has a term for the older s (they’re called “past lives”). Some do chose to delete all their old stuff to restart on a clean slate and to try to avoid stalkers but it’s not something all Vtubers do. There are even cases of Vtubers going back to their old s either during their work at the agency or after they graduate/retire from their agency. And some of them have three s/archives/identities that are readily available to the public if they chose to do so: pre-agency, agency, and post-agency. One of the biggest English Hololive Vtubers even did this.

I guess I could’ve worded it better, but yeah I can kinda understand you have to maintain an image, kinda like a wrestler, or actor, and such.
It’s kinda like how Disney theme park mascots can’t take off their masks in front of customers.
I it I wouldn’t mind doing indie VTubing gaming streams myself, if I had the money, or tech to do it.
Honestly, ing VTubing is like ing a cult. You have to erase everything about your past self in order to become one.
I think that’s a gross over-statement. Not all vtubers are corporate vtubers - a lot of them are indie vtubers who are capable of acknowledging their past and have no such restrictions.
Eilemonty has the restrictions she has now because its a restriction thats a part of Japanese idol culture. It may seem cultish, but to me its the price of being “professional”. Since you’re under a talent agency, you have to keep what you do as part of the agency separate from your previous activities as well as your private life. This too extends to previous work.

Well, unfortunately it is her choice, though it’d be a shame to lose all her old works to time, but perhaps we should respect her wishes.

The brony fandom lost alot of great creators (musicians, artists, animators, singers, comic makers, voice actors, ect.) over the years, and it’s become more niché unfortunately. So there’s hardly any pony fan content now besides the usual fanart.
I dunno - the fact that derpibooru still gets new content by the minute and within every hour, to me, is a sign its far from dead. G5 also brought in new people thanks its 2021 movie (which I do love), as well as its TV series. And even if G5 is not as big as G4, MLP is an IP that will continue thanks to both its fans and creators. Heck, Faust herself was a fan of G1 MLP, which influenced how she designed the G4 cast. Just as G5 had its G4 influence, I do think we might have a bigger renaissance eventually.
She was honestly a great singer, and fan voice actress. Hope she becomes professional.
She’s already professional. Being attached to the famous idol group that is Hololive, as well as its parent company Cover, is a pretty huge deal especially within the Vtuber market. She practically “made it”. Consider how big Hoshimachi Suisei is now.
I think it is more the fact that Vtubers, especially those within Hololive, have an identity and a kayfabe to maintain. Its why people separate the “Gawr Gura” identity from her identity as Senzawa (and likewise the current Saba identity from Gura). Similarly, Kson cannot mention her time in Hololive as Kiryu Coco as the Coco identity and design is an IP that belongs to Cover corp.
Many have liken vtuber personalities to wrestling and there’s some parallels.

Ouch… Yeesh, I wonder which brony spit in her cereal, or what happened…

When the brony fandom started, there was tons of impressive fan content which helped the fanbase become so huge back in the early 2010s.
Alot of the major fan content creators have gotten into controversies, or had crash outs due to their horse-fame, and such.
I guess it goes to show horse-fame is not everything.
But at the same time, if you’re a popular pony content creator, it’s a little unfair to spit in your fans’ faces. I understand wanting to move away from bronydom, (I haven’t watched a MLP cartoon in years since FIM ended. Though, nothing against it, or G5.) but there’s better ways to leave a fandom.
And as I said, honestly the VTuber fandom has it’s bad fans, and bad Vtubers too. Heck, some Vtubers get death threats over the smallest things.
Some people just want to move on or leave the past behind. Could simply mean she found a new ion and wanted to start over fresh. Or maybe she did have an experience that ruined everything, and she had to get away. Whatever the case, that should be okay for creators to do, and they should be ed. It shouldn’t be a negative thing or frowned upon. We should be happy she’s still out there following her ion and bringing positivity into the world. As with any content creator, no matter what they choose to do. It’s their lives, their talents, and their time. None of that should be ours to criticize. Be nice to them. You never know what they’re going through behind these screens. Especially in today’s time where most creators are scrutinized over every detail of them just trying to enjoy their talents and find happiness.
@Beau Skunky
True, especially at this time where brand new official pony content is dry. I do know there are new fans still being formed because of FIM. Even 15 years after it’s initial debut on television, FIM is still a big influence today to people.

That’s a shame. I mean I can understand that being a brony/pegasister isn’t as popular anymore, and is embarrassing, but being part of the fandom did help her start her voice/singing career and many still enjoyed her voices and songs. So that’s not something to be too ashamed of.
And honestly, being a Vtuber, or Vtuber fan, is really no less geeky or nerdy then being a MLP fan. There are cringy bronies, Vtubers, furries, gamers, anime-fans, sports fans, ECT.
@Beau Skunky
Tbh I have no idea why. I don’t recall any beef she had with the fandom. I only knew she was a Vtuber when a friend told me about it. Maybe she just simply found a better job for her voice acting to take over. I do find it odd you’re not allowed to bring up her old legacy in chat.
I see…
What?

What’s wrong with her wording? I don’t sense any animosity or anything.
Yea, the demeaning part I over exaggerated. I meant it’s mostly about her wording
That doesn’t sound too bad.
Where’s the “demeaning us” part?

I would usually say the same, but not after reading that Google doc that she made saying goodbye and demeaning us.

Did she have a falling out with the brony fandom?
