Queen Chrysalis, realising that she has to take care of her last child (the last changeling egg she was able to lay), resorts to her last option: ing Starlight Glimmer’s army (although she is not very happy with the idea). At first, Starlight refuses the idea due to a latent betrayal. Still, Chrysalis convinces her by giving her custody of her child, saying that if she were to betray them, Starlight could do whatever she wanted with her child. With that, Starlight its her into her army. Some time later, on a mission where Chrysalis’ talents were crucial and where Trixie was the leader, they faced Commander Pinkie and the Black Paw Warlocks, where Chrysalis and Trixie, as the last of the squad, were cornered at the edge of a ravine. Chrysalis, badly injured and without her horn or wings, is thrown off the cliff, where Trixie also jumps to help her. Falling together, Trixie, not being a magic expert, in desperation, only manages to save Chrysalis from the fatal fall. At the foot of the cliff, Chrysalis, seeing Trixie’s lifeless body, realizes that if she returns with the body, she will be quickly accused, and they will take revenge on her son. So, gathering the last of her magic, she transforms into Trixie and buries her. When she is found, she (now as Trixie) says that Chrysalis died and she buried her. By deceiving everyone, she was able to rest and recover from her wounds while thinking about how and when to flee with her son. During that time, she watches as Starlight lovingly cares for the egg. Until it hatches, and the first thing the little one sees is Starlight, calling her “mom.” Still recovering, she watches how Starlight, still busy fighting the Storm King’s army, never neglects the child. Sometimes she experiences very warm moments with Starlight and her son. In the final battle, Chrysalis (still as Trixie) is at her wits’ end as Starlight is badly injured and trying to cast a spell that Sunburst created to defeat King Storm (now in his colossal monstrous form). Chrysalis decides to reveal the truth to Starlight and shows herself as she is. Starlight, stunned, realises what happened to Trixie, but also everything she experienced with Chrysalis, and bursts into tears. In that moment of weakness, Chrysalis decides that she will cast the spell (which is fatal for both the recipient and the caster) and pushes Starlight away, where Chrysalis becomes Trixie again. The moment when she transforms, she looks at Starlight from afar and says the following: (when she is Chrysalis) “Take good care of my…”, (when she is halfway through the transformation) “… your…”, (and when she is Trixie again) “… our child.” In the end, Chrysalis comes face-to-face with the Storm King, casts the spell, and both vanish, leaving an echo in the wind that says, “The Great and Powerful Trixie!”
