Definitely a more productive year, although for whatever reason all the OC images I made this year performed horribly on Derpi. No major downvotes, just little to no faves and they go stagnant immediately, and I still don’t know why. It makes me not want to post images of them on here.
That said, I did do more art with backgrounds at the behest of my friends, and my images have been doing well on DeviantArt and Bluesky at least.

I try to maintain a schedule to early in the week during the afternoon, since it’s really the only time I have available. I realize now to not let upvotes and stagnation affect what I want to draw. I’m gonna make what I want and let nothing hold me back <3
Oc images tend to get less upvotes and faves than canon characters, that much is true. And yes, some may go stagnant. That’s an unfortunate fact. There isn’t always a specific reason and I certainly doubt it’s because people dislike your ocs.
It could have been due to the time you posted (less people being online), it could be due to spam posting from other s burying your image, it could be something else caught their attention, it could be that they weren’t logged in and couldn’t upvote, for example.
I would recommend not worrying too much about what gets the most upvotes and what doesn’t. Sure, upvotes and faves are nice, but in the end of the day, it’s all digital points with no actual impact. Draw for yourself, draw what you like and keep improving and evolving your art.

First off, way to come off as a smug prick for saying I “haven’t improved in 4 years”. Better line consistency? Doing more backgrounds? Trying to explore out my comfort zone? Nah, none of that matters, no improvement in sight.
Second, I make draw and art because I WANT TO. Is there really a purpose for me to draw? Do I have to explain why I want to draw something now? Then again, I believe you said I shouldn’t do art anymore a while back, but what do I know. I’m not asking for my art to be adored by everyone, I only asked why my OC images weren’t doing well. I already mentioned that my art does well elsewhere, so I guess I should take my business elsewhere then and not even bother here. My friends like what I make, and others too, but I guess you refuse to see that. Again, “no improvement in 4 years”, come on.
Sure, maybe I should embrace what I make, and I do a little, because clearly, according to you, I’ll never reach the heights of others. Happy now?

No background, OC just standing there, 20 is a really standard score for images like that even from amazing artists. Your scores are a bit lower ittedly, and you tend to have two characters in a bunch of these so maybe you expect twice the score as as result when that’s not how this works. But I don’t get how this is ‘so bad you might stop posting them’.
If you really want better scores, then you could just try drawing better. Your art skill has barely improved over the last 4 years. Wait. Oh huh, I didn’t even get deja vu from this, even though you complained about low scoring OC drawings 4 years ago, and I replied and said to maybe just get better at art. I didn’t that at all. Well now that’s awkward.
But to get this straight, you chose not to improve, but are still pretending to be clueless on why you aren’t getting a better score? Why act like this is a mystery? What do you gain from that? You have nearly 1000 images here but what are you making them for? You need to make a change. Either put in the effort that will get you the attention you want, or embrace your art as it is, good enough for yourself, and stop worrying what others think. Both are good options, but you do have to choose just one. You’ll make yourself miserable otherwise if you keep up this mindset that you deserve a higher score.
I’m looking forward to 2030 when I bump into one of your drawings again. I really hope you’ve made a choice by then.
