There’s a scrapped opening scene where Argyle (and I believe Sunny as well) sung about the Mane Six. I believe that was the first thing we fans saw of A New Generation after the leaks from December 2017.

That flashback was in 2D and closer to FIM style. The 3D models were holdovers of when it was ment to be about new version of the G4 cast, which later changed to being original characters.
I don’t think we’ve seen the 3D models of Fluttershy and Rarity before, seeing how crude they look (Rarity’s horn angle…) maybe this is why. Have to wonder if the decision to do a full reboot this far in production is due to how off it looked?

that’s a flashback scene not a reboot, probably a scene from the beginning, like the opening sequence.
