Sometimes I have to preface conversations with something like: “I am poor.
“I’m interested in saving money only and getting buddy-buddy with me will not help you make a sale, I don’t follow trends, and asking where I’m from and saying [insert] was/is from there is just filler, and don’t ask about my day unless you want an honest answer and invitation for me to vent.” Broken up in portions.
And yes, I am really going to stand/sit here in front of you looking up forums and social media posts/comments, ask you about any problems that crop up, and I will read through the paragraphs on any contract and ask you about it. So if you don’t think it’s worthwhile for me to be with you for an hour to sell the basic thing I need (assuming there’s a mathematically high chance that I’ll make the purchase), do not continue.
