As a historian I am very enthusiastic about the Bayeux Tapestry, which I have used before as inspiration for digital MLP art in the context of a pen and paper RPG. While those pictures were digitally made, this is the real deal with actual embroidery.
The scene is inspired by the conflict that led to the downfall of the Crystal Empire to King Sombra and the long time vanishing of the Empire.

It was strongly inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry (one of the most awesome pieces of art from the middle ages) :)

Thank you kindly, Jack-Varus :)
Yes, this one has really taken a while. I started working on it in late July 2024. ittedly there have also been long interruptions during which I hadn’t been working on it, but each stich took between 20 and 30 seconds on average, so combined it really took quite a while. But it has also been a lot of fun to make :)
That’s a really cool idea!
It must’ve taken ages
