@Background Pony
I said I wasn’t against it because Faust, I said I was against it for (among other reasons) the same reasons as Faust. @Ebalosus
When did I do that? @Keith Mowz
Naw girl, naw. This isn’t vitriolic enough to be an argument. Though I do enjoy wading into the thickest Dramas(tm) this fandom has to offer. It’s life affirming, the way pain is life affirming.
Then I sincerely apologise for misinterpreting your earlier statements.
The reason I said what I did was because I was reading earlier elsewhere that “Twilicorn is bad because Faust wouldn’t have wanted Twilight to become an alicorn”, and then they precedent to base their entire argument around that premise.
Thus, if you think that Twilicorn is a terrible idea, then fair enough. But don’t try and base an entire argument around Faust when arguing against Twilicorn. Honestly, I prefer “Twilicorn is bad because now she is a Mary-Sue™” to “Twilicorn is bad because it’s not-what-Faust-would-have-done™”
What does Faust have to do with whether Twilicorn is a good idea? Nothing! Whether Twilicorn is a good idea or not has nothing to do with Faust. Anyone arguing otherwise is arguing over what-ifs
@ClownDicks
Lauren Faust has repeatedly refused to talk about what she had planned for the show after the second season, out of deference to the current staff. She has expressed her faith in the current staff multiple times, and has twice complimented Meghan McCarthy when others have denigrated her. And yet the anti-Twilicorn crowd keeps dragging her words into this spat, despite her clearly-stated disapproval.
Given a choice between a side that’s frequently insulting to those they disagree with, and a side that’s frequently insulting to those they disagree with and that disregards the wishes of people they claim to respect, I’m slightly more sympathetic to the arguments of the former.
@ClownDicks
Regarding his reasons, Lauren Faust herself mentioned “I have no doubts that Meghan is doing her best to uphold the ideals brought to MLP. This quote mash up is unfair.” (source)
(I can’t help but wonder what Chad’s response to that tweet was…)
@ClownDicks
He went from “even the episodes that make me angry I love watching because they give me a strong emotional response” (MMDW) to “I wish I’d never heard of it” and declaring everything that wasn’t personally done by Faust sucks and is just a flimsy toy commercial. (“Is that your dad? Tell [satan] that I blame him for that shitty abomination of a third season”)
You didn’t; it was more of a forewarning to any reader.
I said I wasn’t against it because Faust, I said I was against it for (among other reasons) the same reasons as Faust.

I think CD just likes arguing.
I mean, debating.
That’s fine, in of arguing the facts surrounding Twilicorn, though we should be cautious as to not put words in Faust’s mouth.
You’ve already demonstrated quite clearly you don’t care about what Faust would or wouldn’t do.
Well, it isn’t what Faust would have done, but the most important thing is why it isn’t what Faust would have done.
Then I sincerely apologise for misinterpreting your earlier statements.

Never said it did.
My point still stands: There is no equivocation between Lauren Faust and Whether the idea to make Twilight an alicorn was good or not.
Fake and gay.
What does Faust have to do with whether Twilicorn is a good idea? Nothing! Whether Twilicorn is a good idea or not has nothing to do with Faust. Anyone arguing otherwise is arguing over what-ifs
That doesn’t explain how it makes Twilicorn a good idea, or how it’s not an accurate comparison.
Lauren Faust has repeatedly refused to talk about what she had planned for the show after the second season, out of deference to the current staff. *means it isn’t valid
Fuck.
Also,
>implying Faust being against making the comparison doesn’t mean it isn’t valid
This is making you think Twilicorn is a good idea… how?
So it’s perfectly fine to drag Lauren Faust into your vendetta against Meghan McCarthy, even though she s Meghan?
Yeah, it’s bronies like you who’re making me reconsider my opposition to Twilicorn.
And he explained that the rest of the quote doesn’t make it much better.
Regarding his reasons, Lauren Faust herself mentioned “I have no doubts that Meghan is doing her best to uphold the ideals brought to MLP. This quote mash up is unfair.” (source)

You didn’t disprove my statement. And he has his reasons.
He went from “even the episodes that make me angry I love watching because they give me a strong emotional response” (MMDW) to “I wish I’d never heard of it” and declaring everything that wasn’t personally done by Faust sucks and is just a flimsy toy commercial. Don’t you mean apostate? He is an apostate and must be made to suffer for abandoning us.
