She was no mechanical mare by any means. She takes pictures and draws stuff, not bashing her head on anything metal. Her friend was a mechanic and she did see him work on a couple cars, but she never actually took note of what was going on. She simply watched, that’s all. At the moment, the poor mare regretted her choices. ‘I should’ve taken a couple notes,’ she thought to herself. But alas, it’s too late and now she’s stuck in the middle of nowhere-ville.
She looked to her left… nothing but trees and grass. She looked to her right… nothing but more trees and grass. In the distance, mountains sat under the fading light, clouds becoming faint with each ing minute. She didn’t see any other cars besides herself, and for a moment, she felt scared.
She could be attacked by a rabid animal.
She might be stranded on a road that’s rarely taken.
She has to PAY for repairs on her car!
Well, that last one wouldn’t be too bad, but the other thoughts? Yeah, it was pretty horrific to even think about.
She checked for her bag and reached for her phone. The mare frowned. 25% and no bars. She couldn’t call anyone for help. There goes her plans, and 25% battery is not a lot to work with. She couldn’t even enjoy playing her offline games without the threat of her phone dying in her hooves.
It was just bad luck today, wasn’t it?
She sighed and placed her phone on the driver’s seat. She was outside breathing that sweet, nature air. Even if her situation was less than ideal, she could at least appreciate the beauty around her. Better to think positively than negatively, right? That’s what she thought, at least.
A few minutes ed, and she heard the tell-tale signs of a car approaching. Her ears swiveled to it first before her head did. When her eyes landed on the object, they both lit up in glee: it was a cop car, or… a state trooper car? She didn’t know, but it was a car that could help her out regardless. The mare quickly trotted out into an open area before frantically waving her hooves in the air. She noted that it may have looked crazy, maybe downright insane, but she didn’t care. She’d rather look crazy than die alone.
The driver of said car seemed to notice this and a few moments later, it pulled up behind her own shit-mobile. She clip-clopped her way over to the new guy and… stopped. It was a human in the vehicle, not a pony or any other creature she was familiar with. He looked young, somewhere around his mid-twenties at the very least. He had glasses sitting atop his face, and… oh…? Interesting…
The officer stepped out of his car and gave the mare a friendly wave. “Hello! You were waving a lot back there. Is something the matter?”
The mare blushed a in embarrassment. She shook herself out of her thoughts.
Focus, Snapshot…
“Ahem… yes, I was waving a lot because my car broke down.” she gestured with her head. “I’ve been stuck here for quite a while and I don’t wanna be out here when it gets dark. Can you help me out?”
“Well, I’ll try my best, miss.” the man rubbed the back of his neck, frowning a bit as he looked over at her car. “I’m not really good with cars myself,”
Drats.
“…but I could probably give you a lift to the nearby town if I can’t do anything. How does that sound?”
She gave a nod, unable to hold back the smile that appeared. “Yeah, that sounds nice. Thank you, sir.”
“Please, just call me Derrick, miss…?”
“Snapshot Scribble, but you can call me Scribble if you want to.”
The man chuckled. “Snapshot Scribble, huh? Cute name.”
She blushed once more. Double drats.
Anyways… Officer Derrick, as she came to know him, unfortunately couldn’t do that much with her car either. His hands worked on parts that she had no name of, but he himself couldn’t do much. Judging from the various curses and “ah fuck’s” she heard? She knew her vehicle was gonna be out of commission for more than a single day. She might even have to spend a few bits to get it fixed. That was something her future self had to worry about.
Present self? Well, now she’s gonna get a ride to a nearby town with the human. She liked that.
“Oh… uh… before we go,” her horn lit up, pulling out her phone, “can I get a picture with you?”
Derrick raised a brow. A picture? He was confused at first… but gave off a soft chuckle as she shook his head in disbelief. Snapshot Scribble wanted a picture in the middle of nowhere? He could do that. He couldn’t believe it, but he wasn’t gonna raise Tartarus about it.
“Yeah, sure, I’ll take a picture with you, Scribbles.”
The mare grinned. “Sweet!”

Something I did for funsies. On Tik Tok, I came across some peak and I was like, “Dude, I should draw something like that, but with a pony.” This is the result. Anywho… thanks for being here! Take care.
