This image actually references a song:
“Goodbye is a Hard Thing to Do” — Shanghai Rainbow Chamber Choir
I shared with the creator of the painting the story of the background pony and such a song. In the end, just like in the novel, a song turned into something tangible.
“Background Pony” is undoubtedly one of the most heartbreaking works in fan creations. What struck me the most were Alabaster and Penumbra—they truly felt like forgotten “background ponies,” unnoticed and unknown. It was as if the curse in the story had taken effect, and they were indeed forgotten.
Unlike the sense of “loneliness” found in most fan works like “Background Pony,” this is a group portrait. I think, rather than focusing on an unsatisfying ending, it’s more important to the journey that led here—to have come, to have seen, and that is enough. Just as the lyrics say: “Since we can’t forget, let’s just carry it with us.”
Finally, please the artist: Luoboma.

If you see the tags, please add them. Writing tags is truly a painful thing for a pony.
