Large, active, electronic devices in in even loosely sealed packages are usually prone to overheating unless they are designed for it? The packing peanuts probably provide a degree of insulation, potentially making the problem worse.
Not necessarily a problem until the box is closed, but best to do it now, unless she can and will do it herself after the box is closed before she overheats.
