Twilight Met Gala 2026
I really like outfits. The Met Gala has lots of fun outfits, and lots opportunities for inspiration. This year’s dress code is ‘Fashion is Art’. Twilight in The Starry Night was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it! I did have a bit of a dilemma deciding how to blend the impressionist style of the dress into Twilight, but I thought it would be a better exercise to inspire the rest of the rendering form Van Gogh’s style. I am under no delusion that I really captured his use of color/ value, but I gave it my best shot! I really like the stroke heavy/ mottled look that I wound up with, and I think I’m going to work it into my works in the future.
