Tbf this chart is something I really just slapped together at quick notice. Most of the equivalents (especially the background characters) aren’t set in stone and I can and will change them on what seems fit for the art
Is this meant to just apply to “Form Your Friendship”, or G5 canon?
Like:
Haven & Alphabittle: Makes such sense in retrospect given their parental (substitute), authority, and ing main character roles surprised this didn’t come up sooner
Opaline: Despite origins as Luna, matching Chrysalis’s MO is a revelation about how to think of her.
Posey: Fits Starlight’s role as 6th ranger comically at odds with ideals of main cast. Does it even better lacking the baggage/complaints Starlight had.
Comet & Violet Frost: Better fits their occasional ing role than the 6th ranger fans assumed of them (maybe if G5 continued this wouldn’t be the case).
Little Rock: Good, considering similar lack of actual screentime even works on meta level.
Jazz and Rocky: Fits the role of developing relationship from scratch, good comparison.
Rufus, Figgy, Sunny & Zipp: Comparisons are simple or already well acknowledged by fans, but they work well here.
Questions regarding:
Izzy, Pipp & Misty: Pinkie Pie, Rarity, & Fluttershy are better matches personality wise. (Hitch was AJ and Fluttershy in first movie, but Misty changed that.)
Pippsquicks & Hitch’s animals: Agree with CMC & Mane 6 pets as whole, but lack enough characterization to say which individuals compare to who. (Glory seems to better fit Apple Bloom as the face/leader of group.)
Phyllis: They have opposite personalities, alignments (even from little seen post redemption), social status, and narrative roles.
Onyx: Mudbriar surprisingly good comparison, but Maud seems better in retrospect (prominence wise, role beyond love interest, ex.)
Dapple: What little character they have as counterpart to Onyx makes them very different to Sunburst with no notable similarities. Mubriar maybe better fit.
Berries: Zephyr has far too well developed and flawed a character for a benign, non-developed background character. (Sprout seems far better fit for relation to heroes, ego, and antagonism.)
Is there a reason for these I’m missing?
Other G4/G5 characters aren’t developed enough to have anything innately good/bad to say about the counterpart.
Still, I like a majority of this and am interested in seeing more. Good work.

I’ve never considered the 3d exclusive characters to be honest but yes most likely
Can’t ever escape the request bums can we?
Is there a reason for these I’m missing?
