The Morrowtide Family

Princess Luminescent Light, AKA Princess Luna, and Sombra had known each other for over a millennium. Through better or worse, Luna ing her friend until his corruption and even afterwards when he was coping with his actions of the past, the two remained close. They had come to the realization that they were some of the only ponies in equestria with similar, if not the same, backgrounds when it came to curses. It was certainly a hard pill to swallow, but Sombra has Luna to thank for always being there, believing he was still there, even when the world didn’t.

This, of course, would only lead them to catching up. Sombra hadn’t been privy to the world that he was barred away from for oh so many years. Luna happily brought him from place to place as her sister had after her curse was broken. Though, things would come to a slight halt when Luna would turn up pregnant with Sombra’s child. Scared of what adverse affects his twisted biology would have on either his wife or his prospective son, Sombra stewed in a relapse of previous guilt he had when he was King of the crystal empire.

Though Sombra, and even Luna, had some doubts about the pregnancy, they two would feel relief as they were blessed with a healthy baby boy. With the same white mane and tail as Sombra’s mother and the bat attributes of both Sombra’s father and Luna, Sombra couldn’t help but feel true happiness as he held his son for the first time. Though his son would face tribulations of blindness, as they watched their son grow with little issue, the two couldn’t feel more happy. That was, until they were faced with two more bouncing baby foals. With the arrival of the two twins, Selene and Astrios, Sombra and Luna would feel a little more stress. Not by their muteness or deafness, but by the simple fact that they can NOT stop getting into mischief.

The Light Family

Celestia and Discord, like Luna and Sombra, had known each other for thousands of years. While studying under Star Swirl the Bearded, Celestia would find herself getting into mischief with Discord when she should really have been doing her work. Discord was always a beacon of chaos (rightfully so) in Celestia’s life. The two would always find time to prank Luna or Star Swirl whenever they had, or even didn’t have, the time.

Though, things had changed when Luna had been cursed with dark magic. Having to send her sister away and have the weight of the world on her shoulders really hollowed out Celestia. Although Discord tried to bring out his old friend, it seemed as though the Celestia he knew wasn’t there. She had grown more stern, strict, and especially tense. With his friend shooing him, if not shunning him away, Discord would feel his own bit of hollowness creep in. He didn’t need friends. He was a GOD. What did he need friends for? And so, Discord tried to take over Equestria, desperate to get his friends attention, but convinced he didn’t need her.

After being defeated, Celestia was left alone to raise students to hopefully help her in her time of need. She was running a kingdom alone, and truly? She didn’t know how to handle it alone. So with the help of her student, she was able to free not only her sister, but her best friend. As years ed of healing the bonds that were lost thousands of years ago, it felt as though Celestia was ea a bit. Discord certainly pushing that point by visiting her nearly every day to joke and tease her about becoming a “true goody goody” and “where was the joker from way back then?”. The two had been brought back together. Celestia was becoming herself again, and Discord had even calmed down a little and not been as rambunctious as he used to. That isn’t to say he doesn’t occasionally turn the castle guards into frogs with wings, but that’s beside the point.

After years of being together and reconnecting, the two would have a bit of an… unofficial marriage. Though Discord insisting on at least a small (big) wedding. Though Celestia believed it was just to joke around with the guests, which was correct of course. And sooner rather than later, an egg would appear in the form of their first child, Cypher. A calm and certainly powerful hybrid creature. Cypher certainly posed a bit of a challenge for the two gods, but overall they couldn’t have been happier to have the little twerp as their kid.

The Fae Family

Chrysalis has certainly had a long run in with royals. Enough of a run in as far as she was concerned. But, as she was offered a place among “Grogar’s” Court and allowed to take back her kingdom as long as she worked alongside other likely villains, she–… declined. HARD decline at that. Though working with others was the LAST thing she wanted to do, that wasn’t to say that what she thought was Grogar wouldn’t follow and most likely destroy her. So Chrysalis made a plan to hide for the time being. Having found an isolated village, that being the kirin kingdom, she made way to (begrudgingly) ask for a place to stay to hide.

Fascinated by the strange creature in her village, Queen Rain Shine allowed Chrysalis to stay, at a price. As long as she worked alongside the kirin in the kingdom to make her way in the village, she would be allowed to stay in the palace and be guarded by the soldiers at the door. Annoyed at the prospect of having to work with others yet again, Chrysalis agreed, figuring if she were to go back to Grogar now, she’d surely be punished.

Though, as time went on, a curious thing started to happen with Chrysalis. She had slowly began to learn… love? Not stealing, but… affection. As she was spending more and more time with the Queen of the kirin, she was finding herself enjoying the stupid banter they found themselves in whenever Chrysalis made a remark towards the Queen and vise versa. Clearly unnerved by this, Rain Shine made it a point to teach the dethroned queen the lesson that one of her subjects had taught her years ago. Emotion is ok. Though it may be scary of what the affects your emotions may have, leaning into them sometimes isn’t that bad.

Chrysalis obviously found this sappy, but she had found respect in the queen, something that she never truly felt before in other creatures, let alone her own colony. Chrysalis had truly fallen for this strange and bizarre acting queen and found herself reformed. At first being repulsed at the idea of letting herself go “soft”, she was reassured by the one creature that found her on the same level as every other pony and creature around. Rain Shine.

Rain Shine, after marrying the dethroned queen of the changelings, came to that she may never have a true blood heir to the throne. After all, there had never been a hybrid kirin with any other creature. What was the likelihood of finding that very attribute in her wife?

And so the two lived together in the castle, unaware of just what the changeling was about to go through. After a few months, the two found themselves with a coming foal. This, obviously, was a big surprise for the couple. They had truly believed they had been blessed with a miracle child. A true hybrid of kirin and changeling DNA.

And it was only a matter of time before the two treated their bouncing baby with that same respect. Spoiling her rotten. Aster had been held to high expectations. The throne of the kirin to take over when her mothers saw fit, the eyes of many creatures on her. It would go to nearly anyone’s head if they were in her place. So with that, Evergreen goes on to try and fill her role the best she can, though her anxiety of the idea creeping ever closer in her mind.

Aaaaand here we are! We’ve got the royals down and hopefully i’ll be able to move onto the next tree! Let me know your thoughts on the families! I kinda love this art style, not gonna lie.

I changed up a bit of the timeline for the Side Gen. I like the idea that Luna was banished before Discord was encased in stone more and i LOOOVE the idea that Chrysalis is too proud to ever team up with other villains. Just vibes better i guess.
