Let’s discuss which greater demon to seek out. We should probably heed Lexicon’s advice that Ken should be a last resort, so we should plan on either Trailblazer facing Senoha’s trial of combat or Honourshine facing Ryokasei’s trial of wits.
You decide to plan ahead, and deliberate with your party on where to travel come tomorrow. You figure that you should choose between visiting either the greater demon Senoha in the desert to the northwest, or Ryokasei in the mountain of Final Rest near Shui-Ti.
Moonflower: “What about the third one?”
While Lexicon Anathema did mention a third greater demon, she didn’t seem to think highly of him, and warned you against making him your first pick. Knowledgeable as she is, you see no reason not to heed the filly’s advice.
Honourshine: “Most demons don’t hold a high opinion of each other, it seems. As for the other two, we’ve heard of them before, haven’t we?”
You nod; Senoha’s name appeared prominently in the Nan Yunjishan province’s history, you recall, while Ryokasei was mentioned as the one under whom the author of the Dispel Strike tome once studied. According to Lexicon Anathema, the former will likely test your might, while the latter is better known for his riddles.
Honourshine: “A fight or a puzzle, then.”
Moonflower: “Blazer’s kinda good at fightin’!”
Honourshine: “Perhaps, but I’m not. A puzzle isn’t as straightforward, but it sounds safer, and we can put our heads together to solve it.”
Moonflower: “Ooh, you’re right! What if it’s a super tough puzzle, though?”
Honourshine: “I it I’m not sure what to expect from a divine being, but should we fail, then I suppose we can always try our luck elsewhere.”
At the cost of time, you note. Still, Honourshine brings up a good point: she is no fighter, and would be sidelined during a trial by combat. This is something you should take into consideration once the time comes to make the decision…

You spend the rest of the night with your nose in your spellbook. As before, you are faced with a multitude of options — you could either learn a spell from one of the previous chapters, or craft your own.
Among the remaining spells you could learn are: Light, a spell which creates a light source; Twinkle, a spell which creates magical floating glitters; and Silence, a spell which creates a soundproofing bubble.
Alternatively, you could craft a spell which [decreases, increases, moves, or stops] the [force, heat, light, or sound] of [the magic itself, a pocket of air, a specific location, or a relative position]. However, the book reminds you that among the few dozen combinations possible, some are more useful than others.
