History:
Gemstone can’t say she’s had the most interesting history. She was born and raised on her families rock farm by her mother. Gemstone never knew her father but she was curious about him. She’d often ask about him, innocent questions like what he was like, what he looked like, if he was a unicorn like she was and that why she’s a unicorn unlike her mother and the rest of their family who were earthponies,
However, every time she asked about him her mother would stiffen up and change the subject. After so many years of the same round about of dodging her questions Gemstone eventually stopped asking.
She’d often spend time in ponyville with her cousins attending Twilights school of friendship. Gemstone was there to learn actual schoolwork and develop her magic. It was during such schooling that she discovered she had the ability to make gemstone grow from the ground. She thought it was amazing when she saw that first spire of amethyst, but she noticed that some of the older crystal ponies visiting the school seemed very disturbed by the site of it. She still wonders why.
She’s spent most of her life using her magic to help around her families rock farm and earn the family extra money through selling her home grown gems. Though she’d love to get a much deeper schooling for magic in canterlot her family seem quite keen on convincing her to stay on the farm. She doesn’t understand why so many people seem so tetchy about her becoming more skilled at magic. What do they think she’s gonna turn into some super villain??? That’s proposterous! But she guesses that’s just normal for a unicorn born into an earthpony family. Tho she thinks they need to lighten up!
